Elk for Nathan
Okay, so my brother has been to Colorado several times as an adult. Somehow, he never manages to see any deer or elk while he's here. It's autumn, when the elk start moving back up into the moutains for winter. Why, do you ask, do they move up where it gets colder, and there's more snow, for the winter? I don't know, I'm a CSR, not a wildlife expert. :)
However, for Nathan, here are pictures of the herd of elk who were outside my house when I got home tonight.
Hope you enjoy them! Sorry for the fuzziness, I was taking them from the truck.
Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot!
So, in answer to Eero's question on my last post, yes, it does get hot here. Today, for example. I don't know what the exact temp was outside, but let me tell you! Driving home, with no A/C was a special kind of exercise in torture! I will definitely make sure I have A/C by next summer. No ifs, ands, or buts!
And I got permission to take next Wednesday off. That'll make 2 4-day weeks in a row. Mom's flying out to Denver to meet Grandma, and then they'll fly to Chicago, and drive to Indiana for a cousin's wedding. I volunteered to drive Grandma to the airport, and so I'll get to see Mom. Don't see much point in going in for the last half of the day, so I'll just take the rest of the day off. Maybe I'll go see a movie or something.
Other than that, no much. Truck is still doing fabulously. Drove up I-70 tonight, and it went up the mountain like a champ.
Back in the Saddle Again...
So, okay. New blog site. New truck. Same me.
Starting a new site, starting fresh, and moving on.
Last Friday, on my way to work, my car started acting funny. No real surprise, actually. It's been on its last legs for awhile. Got to work, was in front of the building, actually, and it died. Thought it was the battery. That night, after work, it started, but died 2 blocks later. It was the alternator. So, I already had a car loan, I'd just been putting off getting said new vehicle. Saturday, I summoned my courage, borrowed my grandmother's car, and off I went to the dealership. Yesterday, after trials and tribulations at the dealership, I have my new vehicle. First new car I've ever had. This is not a new-to-me car; this is a brand-new, only had 11 miles on it when I bought it, trucker. 2005 Ford Ranger XL. Not much in the way of special features. No A/C, no CD player. But, it's mine. Well, mine and the bank's. It's under warrenty. And it's not in danger of breaking down anytime in the near future. Pictures will be available.
So, that's the latest and greatest in my life. Just thought I'd share.
And then there's the cool rainbow I saw on my way home. I took this at the light, waiting to turn.
